Devil went down to Turrialba

Devil went down to Turrialba

I got there! After a long drive between farms and small tows, I got just to the volcano.
It was beautiful.

I stopped to get directions from the locals.

As you may hear on the news, my country has been struggling with the Turrialba Volcano. It has been having some activity and basically, the whole country is covered with ashes now.
I went down to Turrialba to see how things were going on there, take some pictures and record video footage.
I was trying  to get as close as possible to the volcano but the police have the road closed. So I stopped to get directions from the locals.
Later I will show you how my trip ended.

The coffee maiden

The coffee maiden

Yesterday we visited Poás. There is a little town called San Rafael, where the coffee grows all around.
This is Mario, he took us down to the coffee plantation to take some pictures and video. He was so shy so I had to hide to take his picture.

The Poás coffee is known as "the maiden" It is gentle to discerning palates.

The purpuse of the visit is about the international coffee day that will be celebrated next week.
Later I will share more with you about

I feel so proud of the result and I would like to share it with you. Actually, you will see more like this very often at the blog.

The best coffee of the day

The best coffee of the day

I love to have a good cup of coffee in the morning, but I truly believe you have to earn this good coffee. Doing the right thing for somebody, maybe. Probably for them, the best thing is not coffee, maybe is a turn in the lane, a hand to carry something, etc. The best coffee of the day is not the one you drink, is the good thing you did to earn it that make it the best. What goes around, comes around, and coffee is included in the equation.

Smells like kid spirit

Smells like kid spirit

Since I have memory, I've been always trying to create, fix or change something. And it's funny because writing this words and trying to remember the memories of my life, I realized that never changed. I grew up and still trying to create, fix or change every day.  Across this way, I've been using different tools for that, but the inner-child is always there pushing to do something, keeping myself busy.
Is you inner-child still alive?

When you have been working in a coffee company for more than 10 years you can consider yourself a coffee expert?
For me, the answer is YES, of course, you are a coffee expert!. The point is, which part of the coffee have you mastered?. You can be an expert coffee seller, expert roaster, drinker, brewer, blender, picker, grower, cleaner, etc.
I consider myself an expert coffee expert portrayer :)
What about you?

Coffee growers in Monteverde

Coffee growers in Monteverde

Don Eliecer has been growing coffee for more than 30 years.  He's not confused, just a little shy to the camera. He loves this land, La Gamboa is the name of his farm. Located 5 miles from Monteverde downtown.  We definitely will come back to visit him, and will share more of this amazing story with you.
