Triana - Portrait session at the sugar cane fields

Triana - Portrait session at the sugar cane fields

A few weeks ago I called a friend to start a photography project featuring brides in particular locations. Mariela, my friend said "Sure, can I bring my sister, she likes to have her picture taken". I thought it would be great to have different subjects to practice more my portraiture.

It was a great afternoon, beautiful warm light. After shooting the "brides" project, I started taking pictures to Triana, trying some posing and some snapshots also. I used the sunlight behind the subject for the majority of the photographs, but also tried a few with side light and front light.

This kind of portraits in open environments always bring me a little problem to pose, especially the hands. I suggest to Triana play with her hair, grab her arm, like creating her "mini space" and the feeling that she is enjoying her self.

For the post-production I use capture one. I have a preset that I created trying to emulate a film look, with vibrant colors, great dynamic range and grain.

All the pictures were taken with a Canon 6d and the canon 35mm f 1.4 lens.

I hope you enjoy the pictures, please feel free to comment
